Tonight we took our first bike ride as a family. Yah, I have spring fever. The weather has been so nice. Wyatt loved being in the bike cart. My kids loved being outside. Yah I love that the weather is getting nice. We forgot our camera so we didn't take any pictures.
So tonight, we were reading scriptures and Joshua has a loose tooth. It has been loose now for about 2 months. So John said, "Joshua, just let me pull a little on your tooth." Well, John pulled up and the tooth flew up to the ceiling and Joshua is holding is mouth with an expression on his face that says "What just happened" It stunned him very much. We were all laughing that his tooth hit the ceiling.
A few minutes later the kids went up to brush their teeth. Jacob went to the bathroom and left the toilet seat up and didn't flush. Abigail always climbs up on the sink counter to brush her teeth. Somehow, she feel and landed bum first into the toilet and she let out the most blood curdling scream I have ever heard. I ran up the stairs and she is standing there dripping in pee and just screaming and shaking. She wasn't hurt at all, but oh she was mad that she got covered in pee! Needless to say, she had to have another bath.
So Wyatt has his first tooth come through today! Yah. He was a pretty good teether. He has only had a runny nose and beyond that nothing much else. I don't know how we have been so blessed to have such a wonderful baby.
With my kids off track and John gone to Bear Lake for work, we decided to leave and go visit my parents in Star Valley. It was good to see my Mom and Dad. They have a lot of snow. The kids enjoyed playing on the hill of snow with the dog Bear. My kids love that dog. It makes me sad when I see them playing with that dog that I won't let them have a dog. Here are some pictures. The kids playing in the snow and Wyatt with Grandma.
Here is Wyatt and Grandma and Grandpa.
After we left Grandma's house we went to Bear Lake to spend the night with John there in his hotel. We went swimming in the hotel pool. The kids had a great time. It was Wyatt's first time swimming. He was unsure at first but then he loved it.
Today, the kids and I went to the Hill Air Force Base Aeropsace Museum. We loved it!! It was really awesome. They have some cool planes there. Jacob my lover of anything war loved it. Below are some pictures.
Jacob came home today with a certificate stating that he is in the top 10% of all the nation on the IOWA testing. The categories that he recieved this in are: Reading, Social Studies, Total Composite, Core Total, and Science. He is one smart boy. Way to go Jacob.
Today, Abigail came upstairs with hair hanging all over her clothes. I said, "What have you done?!!" She immediately said, "I didn't want my hair so thick so I cut it." I went over to her and stated pulling off all the loose hair. She started crying, stop making me bald. I said, "You cut it off, it is just the lose hairs." She was very scared she was going to be bald. Needless to say, I don't think she will ever cut her hair again.
After I calmed down, I thought, I need to take pictures. So here is a picture of some of the hair in the garbage and the back of her head. It doesn't look too bad.
Yesterday, January 12th Wyatt said Daddy for the first time. He can also say Baaah and MOOOO!(The sheep and cow sounds). He once said neigh for the horse. He still has no teeth, but is sitting wonderfully. He wants to crawl really bad, but hasn't yet mastered it. Here are some pictures. He is such a wonderful little boy. We love our Wyatt.
Ask me what I am doing any Saturday between now and Valentines day and I will say . . .Basketball! With both boys on a team it takes up our whole day going from game to game. What fun. The boys are loving it. Here are some videos. (I don't think we have any Michael Jordan's in our family.) Here is a video of Jacob playing. Their team lost 20 to nothing. . Here is a video of Joshua. He is in lala land as always. If it was a lightsaber they were fighting for, I think he might concentrate more.
Wow!! What a whirlwind of activity. Christmas came and went. I love Christmas. It is as though the world stops for a day and no one goes anywhere or is needed anywhere and I have my family all to myself and their is magic in the air. It also helps that we got almost a foot of snow on Christmas. It just adds to the magic. We started Christmas out on Christmas Eve. John took the kids sledding at the hill. They had a blast. While they were there, they saw two other neighbor families sledding as well. What fun.
Then that evening Travis and Andrea and family came for Christmas Eve dinner. It was a great dinner. The kids always have fun playing with their cousin McKayla. We read the Christmas story. I love this night. It is the easiest night of the year to put the kids to bed. We looked on the internet and found where Santa was and all I say is Santa is in Colorado, he will be here in 1 hour. If you are not asleep he will pass our house and we won't get any presents. My kids run up to bed and all were asleep within 10 minutes. I remember being a child and I could never sleep on Christmas Eve because I was so excited. I am still that way. I still can't sleep.
Then Christmas morning comes and John and I are the first ones awake. (I really haven't been asleep yet, because I am so excited). So I get up and make a little noise and hop back into bed and the kids wake up. They come in and say, is it time to go see what Santa brought. Then it is all over from there. We all rush downstairs and see what Santa brought. It is all so magical. I love having children. They make life so worth living. I think this year tops one of the best Christmas' I have had. I don't think it is because of the presents. It is because my family was all together. John has been out of town so much with work, it was nice to have him home for 5 days in a row. It was so peaceful and wonderful. My children all were very happy with their gifts and I just love that the spirit is in our home so strongly on this day. The magic of Christmas truly is because our Savior was born and did for us what we couldn't do for ourselves. I truly know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and lived and died for us. I know he loves each and every one of us and he will make our burdens lighter. He won't take them away, but he will give us the strenght to make it through them.
Here are some pictures of Christmas day.
We also got almost a foot of snow!!! Here are some pictures.
To top it all off, Joshua lost his front tooth!!! Yah!
Last night we had the Atkinson Family Christtmas party. It was a great time and good food. We had prime rib and the kids all did a talent and then we exchanged family gifts. Grandma gave Abigail a sweater that she knit and money for the boys. They loved it. Wyatt got a new outfit. Here are a few pictures.
So tonight we had an informal piano recital here at our home. Here are videos of the boys playing their songs. This was Joshua's first ever piano recital. Way to go Joshua!
So tonight for FHE we decorated a gingerbread train. The kids had fun. Wyatt wanted to to be right in the middle of the action touching all the colorful candy. After we finished decorating the train, we went upstairs to brush teeth and get ready for bed. When we came back down, it had all fallen down. Oh, well! One less decoration I have to have cluttering my house.
